A Creative Writing/History teacher and Poet-In-Residence at a charter school, Lopez is also mother to a vivacious seven-year-old daughter. Co-editor of the anthology Earthships: A New Mecca Poetry Collection, her own work is frequently anthologized as well. Recently accepted to the Macondo Foundation established by Sandra Cisneros, she works with socially-engaged writers to advance creativity and foster community. A prolific writer and performer in high demand, Lopez is currently a member of the performance troupe Mestizo Mouth.
